Job Description

Warehouse Receiver

The Warehouse Receiver is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and accurately logging incoming shipments. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring product quality, and supporting overall warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
  • Verify items against packing slips, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Unload deliveries using manual or powered equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
  • Accurately document and input data into warehouse inventory systems (WMS or ERP).
  • Label and organize incoming products in designated storage areas.
  • Report and document any discrepancies, damages, or missing items.
  • Communicate effectively with procurement, inventory control, and warehouse teams.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving area.
  • Follow all safety protocols and warehouse procedures.
  • Assist in cycle counts, inventory audits, and general warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 12 years of experience in a warehouse or receiving role preferred.
  • Familiarity with warehouse receiving procedures and inventory systems.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment (certification may be required).
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures.
  • May require occasional overtime, weekends, or holiday shifts based on operational needs.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety vests, and steel-toed boots may be required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move products weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.
